Default US Consulate Edinburgh

Not sure where the best place to ask this is so feel free to move it moderators.

Has anyone been to the US Consulate in Edinburgh? Looking for some advice about visiting here in regards to toilets and parking. Making a trip there in a few weeks for children's passports.

Note that public restrooms are not available in the U.S. Consulate. The nearest public restrooms are located at the corner of London Road and Easter Road. A short walk away.

There looks to be 13 pay and display spaces on Regent Terrace (The Consulate) and 120 spaces on nearby Regent Road (max duration 4 hours though).

Clicking the "Regent Terrace >" link on the above page will take you to a map showing other nearby parking spaces.

Nearest off street parking (multi story):

WOW thankyou so much thinbrit. You have managed to find the answers I have been looking for all day

And I know it is an odd question about the toilets, but I am taking two young children and we all know what they are like with toilets lol. I find it odd that the Consulate state you must take children for the passport interview, however there are no toilets for said children to use whilst they are here for a couple of hours.

I think they mean "public restrooms" as in not for people off the street. If you are meant to be there, I'm sure there will be loos!. The London embassy says something similar.

I lived in Edinburgh for 6 months about 25 years ago,and loved it. Looking at the Google map thinbrit provided, I was disappointed that I did not recognize it at all. ( I forgot, as opposed to it has changed.)

Yes there is however the services it provides is limited. I am in the process of obtaining my husbands "green card" and unfortunately we have to go to London for that. But the Consulate in Edinburgh does the reports of birth and passports, so that at least saves us one trip to London. We live in the Highlands.

I had trouble locating the Consulate on google maps. I typed in the address and it just looked like a terrace of houses. That was until I went into streetview and spotted the American flag!! hehe
