Default US citizen married with a non-resident alien living abroad - spouse exclusion?

After reading around I have confirmation that myself as a non-resident alien living abroad married to a US citizen living abroad do not need to fill in US tax (I can "chose" not to).
However, for my wife 1040 declaration, she will be choosing the "married filling separately" option.
But then, does she need to leave the "Enter Spouse SSN above and full name here" and "Spouse Social Security Number" boxes empty?
Also, I believe I read she should tick 6b in Exemptions, is that because I am not filling? Is there anything else required to cover this issue on the 1040?

So you don't have a US Green Card, right? If you don't have a green card, you don't need to report worldwide income to the IRS. If you DO have a green card, then you DO need to report worldwide income to the IRS.

Regarding your SSN on your wife's tax return...do you have a SSN? If you do, she should list it...don't leave it blank.

According to form 1040 instructions, she does not need to enter the husbands SS# if the spouse does not have a SS# and is not required to have a SS# or ITIN number.

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040.pdf

If she uses the earned income exemption and/or has a foreign address, the IRS will likely know why she is not including a SS#.
