Default US CDL A to HGV Licence

Hi All. I wanted to know if my CDL A license is reciprocal in the UK to HGV. Does anybody know where I can look or who I can contact to see what I need to do when I get back to the UK?
Really appreciate any help here. Thanks! Jack

PS. Sorry. I should have pointed out that the CDL A is a US Licence

I am pretty certain that your HGV qualification wont be recognized in the UL. As an aside. My HGV 1 was not recognised here in Canada when I exchanged my UK DVLC Licence to an Ontario Licence....would have had to obtain m A to Z in the normal way here in Ontario....But you never know. Best to check with DVLC Swansea in the UK direct...pretty sure a phone call to them will answer your question.

Not sure if this is any help, but my gf has an Alberta class 1 licence (equivalent to a UK HGV) on which she has been driving artics here in Canada. We are about to return home to the UK, I've made a few inquiries with the DVLA, and it seems it isn't worth a damn thing back home. I would suspect that the same would be true of a licence originating in the US. Ask and they will soon tell you.
