Most companies should have a monthly billing option. State Farm charges me an extra $1/mo for this, even with automatic debit (as the form of payment) but these days it works out better for me cash-flow-wise.
The policy is 'sold' in 6 month increments though. I get a new insurance card in the mail 2X per year.

You can pay up front, quarterly or even monthly, but they do tend to tack on a couple of extra bucks for "admin" fees if you don't pay upfront.

We started out with State Farm $2,400 for the year but this year swapped to Progressive $1800 for the year with 3x the coverage we got from State Farm. 2008 Ford Edge & 2008 VW Bug.
