Have you used beeradvocate's site to search for beer stores?

Do you every go out? The Macallan is one of the easiest range scotches to find in the US, cheaper and comes in bigger bottles than the UK!

I like Land Shark as a good summer lager. Hop Pocket is good as is Yeungling and the Domion beers in VA. Actually, I have just discovered that Costco have their own Kirkland brand beer which is actually really good (and reasonable). They include a German lager, amber and pale ale. A box of 24 is only a few bucks more than a pair of Costco jeans ($13)!

Brewed by Gordon Biersch Brewing Company who are the same people who brew the Trader Joes own label stuff. If you like the TJ's beer you'll like the Costco. If you don't, you probably won't like the Costco brand.

It gets the job done and not bad for a party if you don't want to spend to much and not endure Bud light

The better Trader Joes stuff is brewed by Unibroue. Gordon Biersch is rather disappointing - I guess that's why I never get the TJ six packs. All makes sense now.

So what's the Scottish organic Trader Joes stuff like?

The ale is $1 a pint bottle and they've 12 pack case going...

I stumbled across this one in a local restaurant in Scottsdale. I tend to avoid 'tastier' beers because they give me a headache, but this on went down fine so I've been buying it at the supermarket. It has only 3.5% alcohol, which is good news for me - can drink more with less risk of hangovers.

Nimbus Brewery, Nimbus Dirty Güera, Blonde Ale

Label is cute too!

Here's an interesting label - the beer isn't too bad either.
I think its brewed in Saratoga Springs.

But generally I stock up on Tetley's and Old Speckled Hen. Bodingtons if nothing else.
If out, Newcastle is somewhat available on tap.
Will drink Fosters or Heineken (??) if mowing the lawn or after a particularly energetic wank.

American beer is like making love in a canoe........
Its f'ing close to water.

My favourite beer is Alaskan Amber and I was upset when the local Irish Bar took it off the pumps :-( Though the ESB replacement was nice to drink, I still miss the Amber.

While wandering around the lake in Fountain Hills (nr. Phoenix) Saturday, saw this sign. Thought it was amusing that there is not one 'English' beer on the list of imports (though some Scottish and Irish). They also show some US beers as 'imports' ... so I guess this is a loose interpretation!

That is the complete opposite frustration that I have: I hate going into a bar and seeing the happy hour sign that says "domestics only"-- but they only classify Bud, Coors, Miller etc as domestic-- domestic microbrews do not count! Here in Denver, Great Divide's Titan IPA is everywhere on tap-- but it is not a domestic-- FFS-- it is brewed in the city, you can't get more domestic than that

Rant over
