US 16th Happiest Country in Study!
The Beeb's website has an article about happiness around the world. The original study is published in this week's issue of New Scientist.
The happiest nation, according to the study, is Nigeria. The US is in 16th place, the UK in 24th.

Judging by the influx of scams in my inbox, the Nigerians must be very happy because they have millions of $'s in accounts that they want to transfer abroad!

Amazing how many citizens of the top 5 countries seem to migrate to the UK or US though.

They should have said how the surveys were done. If they are doing it on paper or in english and surveying people in places like Nigeria, that's not going to work very well!

Who's they? The BBC. They're the messenger of the news, not the organisation that conducted the study.

I take these type of surveys with a pinch of salt. Who did they ask in Nigeria - the rich types driving their Mercedes living in their mansion with 6 servants or the poor guy in the village with no running water? The former is probably ecstatic with their quality of life whereas the latter probably hates the place.
You know I have never been asked to take place in any surveys so would love to know how they recruit to arrive at their answers.
