All I can say is this (from the unemployment insurance booklet that I have):
Quote:
Although federal and state laws prohibit the revealing of information about your
employment and claim for unemployment insurance to your spouse, relatives, friends,
non-interested parties and private interest groups, federal legislation requires that
such information be made available to state and federal Welfare, Medical Assistance,
Food Stamps, Housing and Child Support Enforcement agencies. Confidentiality will be
the responsibility of all agencies using the information.

Credit reports are created by private companies. The government does not share its
information with private companies. Of course, your credit rating could be negatively
affected if you miss payments because of unemployment.

No it does not. Only public records (bankruptcies, liens, judgements, divorce etc)
and lines of credit in you or your spouse's name (if joint).

Unemployment is not like welfare. With welfare you do not pay into the system
directly. It is funded from State and Federal money (which comes from your tax
dollars, among other things). With unemployment benefits, you have actually been
paying into the system while you were working.
