How about this for a price comparison! I posted up above (post #48) a photo showing "Vinho Porta 6" in Trader Joe's in California for 4.99 USD. Today, in Portugal (Almancil), I saw the exact same bottle for 6.99 euro!

Could have been a different year I guess (didn't think to look till now) but still ... Not bad for US prices!

I've found the US to be more expensive personally. Yeah I generally make more money than in the UK but when you add in healthcare and other stuff it's really about the same.
I shouldn't complain though, I was working a bunch of overtime during the pandemic and hoarded a bit of cash. Enough that I decided to take a sabbatical, not sure if I could do that back home.
