UK trained CT Radiographer looking to move to and work in California
My partner is a US citizen but lives and works in the U.K. with me, only we’d like to move stateside and I’m trying to understand the accreditation/licensing process for a CT Radiographer. I’m wondering if anyone can help? It’s a bit of a shot in the dark, and I’ve asked this question in a few places and everyone seems to understand as much (or as little!) as I do.
I understand there’s an ethical AND educational requirement for the ARRT, and I think I meet both, but there’s no U.K. universities on the approved courses list so does this mean I need to do an advanced placement course in the US as a supplement? And then there’s state registration? I wish there was a clear checklist of things I’d need to do! Hoping somebody can help me clear things up!? |
Re: UK trained CT Radiographer looking to move to and work in California
I can't help with the accreditation but I can tell you that your 'partner' is going to have to be your 'spouse' for you to be able to get a visa to live and work in the US as this job will most likely not qualify you for a visa and/or not be in demand enough to garner sponsorship.
In case you aren't aware, the CR1 visa is the one you'll be looking at - and if you hurry up and get married, you might be able to DCF (Direct Consular FIling) to London which is a lot faster but is scheduled to end later this year. |

Looks like you would have to go back to school.
On the plus side, you should find the classes and exams easy. https://www.keiser-education.com/pro...RoCH6UQAvD_BwE |

Seems 1st April may be the deadline for DCF London.
