UK Student Nurse wants to move to florida
Hi everyone,
I'm currently a second year student nurse with hopes of moving to the Englewood/port Charlotte area in Florida once I qualify. I've had a look at what I need to do but I seem to be finding lots of conflicting information!
If anyone knows the process or has done a move like this themselves any help or advice would be appreciated.
Examples of questions..
Do I need two years post qualification experience in order to apply?
Can I start the application process as a student nurse?
Is it only the NCLEX exam that needs to be done?
Does this need to be done before I apply to the Florida nursing board?
Any help would be appreciate or if you would share your experience with me having lived there!
Thank you all for any help!
Further to this, if there are any Nurse's want to share what its like to work out there would be great too! And if its possible does anyone know if I could do an elective placement over there?

There is no visa category for nurses, and as such it is extraordinarily difficult to immigrate to the US on the basis of a nursing qualification.

In reality your only way to get to the USA would be to marry a US citizen.

My wife is a nurse and whilst I can't give you any immigration advice, I could ask her any questions about working as a nurse here for you.
