Hi,

I need a police certificate for my green card App. I called (what was) my local police station and they didn't know what I was talking about! Does anyone know - is there an official form number that I can quote?

Try the main police station in your area, they should definately
know what you mean, thell them it's for emigration purposes.
You can pick up a form, fill it in and send it off with a cheque for
£10.
It then goes to Scotland Yard Data Protection dept. and it covers
all over the UK (and as far as I understand Scotland and Wales)
By law they are supposed to return it to you within 40 days.
When it comes back it should have a blue stripe at that top and
bottom, that's the form the INS require.
If you don't have any luck with your local police station, you could try your Regional Police HQ.
