UK Passport renewl with a twist
 

So long story short. I had to relinquish my UK passport about 10 years ago due to a DOD security clearance. The relinquished UK passport expired in 2015. Unfortunately the Facilities Security Officer (FSO) for our company passed away a few months ago. I am planning on leaving my current employer and asked them to return my passport. Problem is that the FSO told me a few years ago that he deposited my UK passport in his safe, but the company opened it and did not find my Passport.... At this stage I have to assume it has been lost. Can I apply for a new UK Passport with an older passport (I have 4-5 passports going back to when I was a nipper) or do I need to do something else? I also have my parents birth certificates and my birth certificate as well as several other supporting documents such as UK NI card. TIA for all thoughts....

You’ll need to report your last passport as lost. You can do this online or by including Form LS01 with your renewal application.

I had a similar situation, The FSO took our UK passports and shredded them..
Once I left the company I reapplied for my UK passport stating that I had lost the original.
New passport arrived 2 weeks later :)
