Default UK Lives Up For Sale

As our move gets closer, I was wondering about the fact that I need to sell our lives pretty much. Only things worth taking to the states are personal items & clothes. Is it worth taking furniture or will it be more expensive to ship it?
We have so many electrical goods which are pretty much going to become obsolete due to the different electrical ratings, so looks like eBay will become very busy but I cannot stand dealing with people coming round to collect stuff lol
Be good to hear how some of you peeps got on with selling your Uk lives and how you did it

Furniture, if someone is paying to ship, sure, other wise, only bother if it's good quality/antique stuff, other wise won't be worth the cost.

Can do a yard/garage sale. Flog shit on craigslist type thing, what's it, gumtree? State a flat shipping, box it and send it.

Freecycle stuff, give rest to charity shops and friends/family. If you don't know anyone that's starting out who'd take the cutlery/pans etc something like a women's shelter would take them to help people set themselves up.

We put loads on gumtree the other day - never used it before - and got replies back within minutes and have since sold the treadmill, garden furniture and aquarium and random pieces of furniture. It's free to list and quick. It's amazing what people buy.

We also gave about 8 bags to charity and some clothes to our cleaner. Our friends/family want to buy TVs/coffee machines etc. We're getting through everything slowly but surely. Good luck with it.
