Default UK Land Registry - Proving ID

I need to complete Form iD 1 from UK Gov. Land Registry to prove my identity while living in the USA (California). They require the form to be certified by a lawyer who also needs to provide proof that they are qualified to do so. The actual wording is; "Where identity is verified by a lawyer practising outside the United Kingdom evidence must be enclosed with this form of that lawyer’s authority to practice in their jurisdiction." Has anyone any advice on how to find an appropriate lawyer (in California). Thanks.

Any lawyer admitted to the bar in CA would suffice. They will simply need to take a copy of their certificate stating that they were admitted - that will satisfy the requirement.

Using a Notary Public might be easier/cheaper (banks, UPS stores etc.).
The form is a little different from what they'd typically see but verifying the identity of the person signing a form in front of them is their bread and butter.
The online guidance suggests this is acceptable (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/completing-forms-id1-and-id2)
