Re: UK Foods in the US Share your finds!
Yes, they are out. I went in a couple of months ago and they had nothing - I thought they were sold out. Went in again last weekend - nothing.
Good news is the wee British shop around the corner still has them. They are actually for a friend of mine who's birthday is coming up. I keep harping on about our chocolate so I hope she likes them.

I hadn't had a sausage roll in 10 years back in England, but for some reason I'm craving them lately. . . .

Yes, this is it, isn't it? Sometimes you don't want to actually buy anything (especially at possibly-inflated prices) but just to remind yourself of what all those familiar things look like that were so easy to find back home that you never appreciated them much.

Ocean State had loads of Hobnobs at $2....also Terry's Choc Oranges at $3.
Price Chopper had a buy one get one free for a Branston Pickle jobby, but they were $6 a bottle.

Just a nod to those in Charlotte and who live near the SC border/Lake Wylie/Tega Cay etc etc. The Harris Teeter at the corner of S. Tyron and Steele Creek road now has a small British section. So now I don't have to drive to the other side of town to buy some Ribena and Branston Pickle

$2.85 for Irn-Bru, I paid $7.26 for 6, curious if the new Publix once it opens will carry the usual selection.

However . . . I can forsee the drawback being that we'll eat all these beautiful home-made ones in no time, instead of limiting ourselves to just one each of the over-priced ones you get from a so-called "British Shop" . . . .

Kraft, now owns Cadburys, still unknown as to what they are planning.
One rumor is they are going to pull Hersheys licence to make a form of cadbury over here, then launch Cadbury in America with the same Cadburys product the rest of the world enjoys.
But this is just rumor, but I do know they pulled the main South African supply train.

Wow, thanks for this, SDDep! Does sound pretty easy.

The home made ones are so much better, the bought ones are nearly all pastry and very little sausage in them

I found FLANS in my local Kroger store...yes bacon and cheese, bacon and onion, broccoli and cheese, and they tasted like they were from "home" too, but to be honest, I try to make meals that incorporate the Southern menus with my Yorkshire ones it's much easier.
