Fancied tea. Tetly tea bags found in queens Astoria Trade Fair.

You know when you want an English brew, nothing else will do.

Anyone in the Metrowest area of MA. British Delights, in Westford has Ribena for $2 a bottle, Robinson's were $1 and 1100 tea bags of Builders tea for $25 as well as a few other brands.

Heinz Beans were $1.75 too. A lot of stuff on sale at the moment.

For those in Maine, Reny's had loads of Brit stuff in at the mo for cheap. Hobnob's, chocolates and jam's in particular.

Any particular type? Kellog's, which are American, are widely available. Weetabix can be found in Trader Joe's and so easy other supermarkets.

I used to think that too, but after a few years in an area where truly "British" tea is difficult/expensive to find, I've learned to make do with several American products as long as they're labeled "English Breakfast" or--even better!--"Irish Breakfast".

Trader Joe's does a nice Irish Breakfast tea, strong enough for our two-person tea pot. The price is reasonable at TJ & they have other British foods sometimes. The only downside to TJ (in my area) is that it's 45 minutes away....

Whilst not British they taste as good as, Jaffa Cakes imported from Germany and sold at Aldi.

They cost less for a double sleeve pack then they do for a single sleeve of imported Jacobs Jaffa cakes at Meijer.

No Costco anywhere near us. There is a BJs wholesale club (similar I think) 19 miles away, but as we don't find it's worth a membership to belong.

BJ's don't really sell the tea....but they do often have flyers for 90 days of free membership, so it's worth a poke around for some stock items.

I was very happy to buy these yesterday in a neighbouring town’s wine shop (all imported from the UK):

Mr. Kipling mince pies
Paxo sage and onion stuffing
Yorkshire Pudding mix
Matchmakers (twig like chocs) salted caramel flavour
Prawn cocktail Skips
Cheesy Wotsits
Large box of Cadbury’s ‘Snowy’ choc fingers
Galaxy choc bar
Mars Bar (UK)
Box of Quality Street

(There are loads more things eg. Bird’s Custard, Aero hot chocolate drink powder, Licquorice Allsorts, Maltesers, Choc Xmas stockings and selection boxes so I might make a return trip...)

Oh, and I found a bottle of ‘Gluhwein’, mulled/spiced red wine from Germany....I used to buy it all the time in Switzerland from Lidl and Aldi for approx $2 USD but I paid $8 yesterday...

It’s at Gary’s Wine and Marketplace, 121 Main St, Madison, NJ - they have 3 other stores in NJ too.

As someone representing (the still ) Great Britain I sincerely hope you exited the store with a cart full of alcohol as well?

I did get a couple of boxes of Cadbury's fingers last week for $1 a box from Grocery Outlet. Makes a change for UK food to be cheaper in the US.
