Costco had big tubs of Maltesers at Christmas, and now selling them off cheap.

Anyone miss those little pots of "petit filous" or just wanting fromage frais/blanc? TJ's has "Icelandic" yogurt which I think is the same thing. Classic french dessert for me = spoonful of redberries and fromage blanc. Even the kids had this for school dinners.

Doing a quick google search I understand the similarities.
"Plain Greek yogurt is an excellent substitute for fromage frais. Fromage frais is a soft, fresh cheese popular in French cuisine. This smooth, creamy cheese is difficult to find outside of Europe, but it is easy to substitute other ingredients with equally delicious results. "
It looks fairly easy to make. My wife made paneer in her instant pot, I wonder if there is a recipe for fromage frais for the instant pot.

Not until you'd just reminded me of them, I used to love those.

Anyone know where to get a little stash of Tiptree strawberry jam? Or some dark bitter marmalade?

Don't know about Tiptree (used to live not far from there), but Kroger had a fair selection of Wilkins & Sons jams last time I was there (a couple of weeks ago). I'm diabetic, so I unfortunately don't enjoy the pleasures of preserved fruit very often.
Wilkins is, of course, the parent company of Tiptree.

The only Fromage Frais I'm aware of that is widely available in the USA is Danonino in little six pack tubs. I get it for my daughter from Smart and Final and she really likes it. It's not described as such, I think it's called "dairy snack" on the side of the pack, but that's what it is. I'm guessing the term "Fromage Frais" is so alien to American shoppers that they decided not to call it that.

There's a French-set yogurt available now, which I have been wanting for ages. It's called Oui and comes in a glass pot, so I always make the joke about having my "glass of wee". Not as good as the stuff I used to get in Tesco.
