UK citizen with US citizen partner/kids question

When you make trips back to the UK do you go through the international passport control with your family or do you take them through the UK line with you... has anyone had any probs either way?

go through the UK line.

I did have problems once at Manchester, but there weren't up with the new rules that dependents and spouses of UK citizens can go through the UK line.

out of the horses mouth, she works for immigration checking passports. British passport holders to UK line, non UK passport holders to other. They dont like non UK passport holders going thru UK line because it holds the flow of traffic up. Nothing doing they take them if its busy u will get redirected to Non UK side!

Send me to me/them to wait in another line when I have to make a connecting flight... this in Heathrow... not the most organised airport in the world

Hello

I went through Heathrow a few weeks ago with my 18 yr old USC step-daughter. We both went through the UK line and had no problems at all.

I always take my daughter through the UK line, even though she's a US citizen. Of course, she is only 16 months old....

I've never actually entered the UK with both spouse and daughter (neither of whom are UK citizens) but if I did, I think we'd probably separate and my husband would take my daughter through the non-citizens line.

Last time we went through Heathrow I went in UK line and hubby and daughter went in other line. Lady asked my hubby why he was here and he pointed at me and she told him next time we could all go through UK line together.
