Thumbs up UK best country in the world

As said by Sky News

Survey : Brand UK Rules

Britons face an identity crisis after an international poll rated the UK the world's best country - but its people the most boring on the globe.

A survey of 25,000 people in 35 countries said that ''brand UK'' was the best.

But while UK citizens were considered to be the most polite and best educated, they were also rated the most boring.

====================

Blimey...the USA is at the bottom! Even France is above them. There'll be some tears and outrage over this! Oh the indignity!

But while UK citizens were considered to be the most polite and best educated, they were also rated the most boring.

Views of countries' popularity as a place to invest in or migrate to were also sought in the poll, which is carried out every three months by international marketing company GMI and branding expert Simon Anholt.

The French were seen as the rudest in the world and Americans the most ignorant and ambitious.

The UK's overall number one position came after it was voted first on investment, third on sports and cultural heritage, fourth for having "highly-skilled citizens" and eighth for tourism.

VisitBritain chief executive Tom Wright said: "I'm delighted that Britain has come top and is also recognised for its unique culture and its popularity as a visitor destination.''

Opinions on the US were divided, with America coming near the top for product brands, popular culture, investment, technology, education and sport, but near the bottom for cultural heritage and governance.

The top 10 nation brands were:

1 UK

10 United States

lol if we are the most boring what about this lot here...lol and sure enough they are at the bottom...don't need a poll for an educated person to come to that conclusion...lol

Who gives a flying f***?

All I know is I have a BBQ at least 2-3 times a week in great weather and Mango's tropical cafe is 30 minutes away.

I hear you. It's each to their own. The quality of life that my family and I enjoy now is far superior to what we had in the UK. But as I said, that's just me.
