Travelling to the US with US citizen child and non US citizen parents
Hi,
5 years ago when we were living in the US we had our child who has dual nationality uk-us. Since then we are now back in the Uk and are planning a vacation in the US. I know he has to enter the US with his US passport but once arrived at passport control where do we queue? As neither my husband and I have US nationality and they are separate queues for non US passports.. apologies in advance if this is a silly question ! |
Re: Travelling to the US with US citizen child and non US citizen parents
Either line. Since you will be using one customs form you have to stay together. You won't be shot for using the wrong line. It's not a case of the people at certain desks don't know how to process other passports, it's just an attempt at crowd control and maintaining a sense of order.

Before I was a citizen, I travelled many times with my USA citizen daughter and we picked the shortest line whether going to Heathrow or flying back to JFK.

As mentioned, pick the shortest, quickest moving line and get on it.
Better to stay together than use separate lines. They are used to this situation. You're not the first or last that has had to do this. |
