Has any one had problems travelling to USA on L1 / L2 visa with a one way ticket?

we came over to start our L1/L2s on a one way ticket.

as the visa assignment is for 3 years and you woulddnt get an open return that long - why do you think it would cause an issue.

Thnks for quick reply. Many countries will not let you in if you do not have a return ticket. Also many Airlines will not let you board if you do not have a return ticket.

As it would be if you're arriving on a VWP or B1/2. But with an L, you're fine.

Edited to add: Many airlines pull the strangest stunts. Hold your ground!

All that having been said, it may well end up being cheaper to just buy a return ticket anyway and not use the return flight. One way tickets tend to be "full price" only and it is often possible to find a good deal on a return ticket - especially if you have the freedom to choose whatever return date works out being cheapest because you don't intend to actually use it.

Thats what happened to us - we bought return tickets - they were cheaper. We were actually questioned at Heathrow as to why we had return tickets when we were travelling on L1/2 visas.

As I guess the company is paying for the flights, why not get a round trip ticket with a 6 month validity, then you could get a flight back to Europe on them.
Historically tickets from Europe to the US have been cheaper than tickets from the US to Europe, although recently they seem to have gotten a whole lot cheaper +/- $550 including taxes

It's also ok with a B1/B2 visa, at least as far as CBP are concerned. (although it may be harder to show that one is a genuine visitor).

We came over on an L visa 2 weeks ago with a one way ticket and there was absolutely no problem.
