Travel Insurance for UK Trip?
Had a look around but couldn't see anything recent regarding this. My wife (USC) is coming to the UK this Christmas and New Year to visit myself and we're wondering can anyone recommend a company for travel insurance for her for this single trip? I have an annual policy for myself and usually travel there but seeing as we're only recently married and have just sent our I-130 off we thought it'd be better for her to come here in case of any complications with immigration.
Cheers for any help. |

Re: Travel Insurance for UK Trip?
Doesn't the NHS cover emergency medical care for tourists, at no charge?

It does, and that's a good point. Not true of many other European countries though where you're likely to have to pay even for non-emergency healthcare.
(PS: you and I agree) |
Re: Travel Insurance for UK Trip?
While the NHS covers emergency treatment, as I understand it, once you are admitted to hospital (as opposed to being treated in the emergency room) that becomes chargeable.
Also, your insurance covers the costs of getting you back to your home country if that is deemed necessary. Your insurance will also cover dental treatment too I believe. Try getting an NHS dentist to treat you for an emergency ;) |
