Default Travel insurance advice

Does anyone know if this is true or an offer any advice.

My father has just had angiogram where they found two blocked arteries. He had them unblocked just in time as one was 90% blocked. he is recovering now.

A friend visited and told him he wont get medical insurance to come to America/ canada or the caribbean.

IS this true, does anyone know? This will be devestating if they can no longer visit us in America..

Welcome to BE.

Try AllClear insurance. He may have to wait 6 to 12 months before he can get insurance and it will probably be expensive. You don't say how old he is...age is also a big factor in getting insurance for the US.

Depends how old he is.

If he's in his 50's, probably very doable...if he's in his 70's, it's probably game over.

Try SAGA for insurance too. Any cover might be expensive though.

Unfortunately it is.

They were the only company that would insure my then 80 yr old MIL.

More and more insurance companies are refusing to insure people when they get to a certain age....65/70/80.
