Default travel & house/contents insurance

hey,

ok, i'm moving to NYC tomorrow morning and need to sort out my travel insurance... i've been advised to use go walkabout for 1 way insurance for my flight there... but can anyone give me any advice on what i do once in the states for my possessions/household contents etc?

Go see your local friendly Insurance agent ....

One crooked outfit is much the same as another

Go to an independant agent who has more companies to choose
from rather than the Allstate type who just sell their own product

word of mouth, ask people at work and neighbours would be best advice.

I'd offer a recommendation for one way travel, but the folks I used don't offer the cover anymore.

I used STA for one-way travel.

Got property insurance through an independent agent recommended by our real estate agent.

STA were the biggest bags of crap I've ever had to deal with when making a claim, I can't recommend against them enough.
