Transporting a dog from UK to US
After nearly a year my husband was granted his visa and has moved here to the US. YAAAAAY! Now he'd like to bring his dog over. We've read so many mixed reviews about different companies who transport animals and we are torn.
Can any of you recommend a reputable pet transport company that you've used? |

Can any of you recommend a reputable pet transport company that you've used? We bought our dog over in June 2013. We used Pet Air and I would recommend them. They did all the paperwork, supplied the crate and our dog spent a couple of days at their kennels. Our dog was not on the same flight as us, but flew over the following day. The only elements that we arranged were the rabies vaccination and the UK Pet passport. The cost was around $1600. Our dog weighed around 9.5kg. |

Can any of you recommend a reputable pet transport company that you've used? When it comes to choosing airlines, I'd recommend BA (that's who I used all three times) and have read lots of positive comments about Virgin. |
Re: Transporting a dog from UK to US
We used PetAir (we went for the cheaper of their two options and got our own vet to do all the necessary paperwork), they just collected the cat from our house, boarded him overnight and put him on the flight the next morning. I was very happy with them - they were quick to answer any questions I had, and sent me regular text updates on where the cat was and how he was doing.

Re: Transporting a dog from UK to US
We used Virgin a month ago to bring our spaniel to Ohio, they were great. She was staying with my parents so they got the crate, Virgin were helpful in telling them exactly what to get and recommended a place to get it, then our vet did all the medical things and it was all very simple. I would recommend Virgin.

Another recommendation for PetAir - not cheap (but none of the specialist animal shippers are) but very friendly, helpful and efficient.

Just to add to my post, that we requested that Pet Air use Virgin as a carrier as they have a very good reputation in transporting pets.

Re: Transporting a dog from UK to US
My vote goes to PetAirUK as well. My cats are arriving in Chicago on the 11th Feb and they have been great so far, despite my constant fretting. Not as expensive as I initially imagined, either.

Re: Transporting a dog from UK to US
After extensive research by my fiancée, we will be using PetAirUK for moving our two gorgeous Labradors to Cleveland later this year. Never seen or heard a bad word said about them.
