Transferring Money from the UK to the USA
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any tips on transferring money from the UK to USA. I saw on the britishexpats website a company called UKforex? Has anyone used them and are these types funds transfer companies the best way to transfer funds?
Any info would be appreciated!

Yep, I'd also recommend XETrade. Been using them for a while, and they're fantastic. Transfers are quick too - money transferred online on Monday can be in your account by Thursday/Friday.
One thing to look out for other companies is how they transfer the money. I've used CurrenciesDirect in the past, and they wire the money into the US account (as opposed to Direct Deposit, which XETrade do), which incurs a $25 fee from Bank of America.

Yep, but international wire transfers aren't free, whereas XETrade is. I'm also comparing my experience to CurrencyDirect who took a lot longer (well over a week, if I recall correctly).
