Hi I have just moved over to USA from UK I was on a BSc degree program which i did not complete but i was awarded HNC which i have researched about, it seems like it is equivalent to an Associates Degree, but i have done more units than required for HNC, now i want to get my Transcript evaluated, can anyone tell me Which educational equivalency evaluation company is the best one to go for.

There have been numerous threads on this forum discussing UK to US academic evaluations. Please conduct a search on this forum for past related threads.

Welcome to the USA! Ignore the negative posters. Try http://www.wes.org or http://www.ece.org The process can be quite expensive (and often-times unnecessary) You will find that you should get your transcripts evaluated if you are going to continue your education, but not for most employers.

If you are wanting to continue with your education you can just take all your info to the university you are wanting to go to and they will sort it for you. Probably still charge you, though, but if you go to a private college/uni they may not as you can negotiate more :)

I used WES myself they are so so. But they are as good as anyone.

You won’t have an equivalent qualification to a US college degree with an HNC. Best bet is probably to register on a 4 year Bachelors course with a US University and arrange in advance for credit to be given for your UK courses. Some might be willing. After maybe a year or more likely 2 if you didn’t even get a Bsc you could probably get a US Bachelors. Hope you have money the US educational system is expensive. If you don’t bother getting a degree then good luck job hunting. Lots of expat’s on here with graduate degrees have difficulty getting a good job. My suggestion, get serious about getting a 4 year bachelors from a semi decent college(you wont get into a top college now) or start practicing the phrase 'do you want fries with that?' At least until a touch screen ordering menu makes you redundant in around 10 years. :p

Welcome to the land of the dollar. Sink or swim over here and you will soon pine for the UK. :(

That's interesting, I never knew you could do that. Is there anything that this is required for?

What kind of conversion so they do for UK qualifications i.e. GCSEs, A-Levels, GNVQs, HNDs etc..

Anyone had this done who wouldn't mind sharing their experience?
