Top tips needed for markets in NYC
A friend of ours is coming over from Glasgow soon and is hoping to visit a market. When I asked what he meant, the response was ( and I paraphrase)"somewhere I can argue with guy over the price and get some sh1te for the clan back home".
He likes the Barras which I think is what he means
Any suggestions?
Thanks folks
P.s. He is also looking for a bar/venue/club where he can play his guitar. I guess like an open mic night but with guitars. I have no idea!

We barter in Little Italy stores for scarves, bags etc. Its not a market but a great area for bakeries, italian coffee shops & restaurants.

What kind of music does he like to play? It might be best for him to Google the specific type of open session he'd like to join, i.e. 'Irish sessions in NYC' or 'Open folk music nights', etc.
And it's always advised to ring up the venue ahead of time, just to make sure the info you have found isn't old & outmoded, or that the regular session hasn't been cancelled (as they sometimes are) for that particular week.

Here's a link to the 12 best flea markets in NYC. I've done the Annex/Hell's Kitchen ones a few years back, great to wander around and look at all the junk/treasures!
