Tinned Haggis ?
Caledonian Kitchen sells tinned haggis. How does this compare to say a haggis bought at Sainsburys ? . I can not bring myself to fork out for the presentation haggis.

Haggis in a tin?! That's not right! To be fair I have not had real haggis since I was a little girl. Last time I had it was actually vegetarian haggis and it tasted just like the regular stuff. Not been able to find it anywhere in Indy and would like to get it for either Burns Night or St Andrews. I don't think I'll be trying tinned stuff though!

Yeah having a real one shipped will cost you an arm and a leg, I did it the first year and think I was close to $70 .
I have also bought the selection pack from Caledonia Kitchens. I have only had the sirloin one so far and have to say it was pretty good with some neeps and tatties. If anything it was a little 'wetter' than a real one but I think you could pop it in the oven to dry it out a bit. Don't get me wrong it wasn't soupy or anything like that just not as dry as a real one.
I bought my real one from these folk http://www.scottishhaggis.com/index.aspx

I think the chefs at Feast will make one if you ask. Goodness knows how much it would be though. They do black pudding and the like. We were there a few weeks ago and had real clotted cream. Mmmmmm

I have one tin left, I usually buy 1/2 doz at a time, my father thought it was acceptable (high praise from him).
I actually like it, it is similiar to a version that my mother used to make.
