Hello, we live in England and have owned a westgate timeshare in Florida for 10yrs plus and have been trying to get rid of it for some time. Would anyone out know if you can just give them back,cause they have just told us westgate that is, its against the law to take them back. Also if we did not pay the maintenence what would happen, would be not be allowed into the states ever again, Would like to know if anyone has had simalair experience, from a very stressed wife.

I don't own a timeshare... but there's a website advertised in the US www.timesharesonly.com - where you can sell your timeshare. Not sure if there's something similar where you are; or if you can take advantage of this website!

I would have thought it depends on your contract ..but against the law I doubt....And any civil debt would hardly prevent you entering the US
But to avoid problems ..stick it on Ebay for a dollar

Where's the contract or the paperwork relating to the purchase of the timeshare?

Does this Westgate have a website? Maybe you can get details about how to sell the timeshare there.
