Timeline For I-129F

11 June mailed I-129f & other forms to TSC
about 1 week later rec'd 1st NOA
15 July rec'd NOA (Approval) USA side
23 July packet from London Embassy mailed to Catherine's UK address, forwarded to her here

Catherine was in the USA setting up stuff, bought a mobile home (we gone be trailer trash!), so she waited for my return from overseas job.

22 Aug sent by DHL 1st wad of papers to London Embassy
29 Aug Catherine returned to UK (Wiltshire)
30 Aug submitted requests for Uk and German police records
16 Sept (I think) rec'd German police report
19 Sept rec'd UK police report
20 Sept submitted signed checklist via registered mail (or whatever they call it there) to Embassy, arrived there 23 September
03 Oct in response to an email from Catherine about progress Embassy emailed back that they had not rec'd the IV-15 checklist. She immediately responded by email with the tracking # for the parcel and the time it was delivered
04 Oct Embassy responded via email giving an interview date of 09 Oct!!!!
At this point, she had still to wait for the surface mail with the appt in it.
08 Oct rec'd appt letter telling her to be at Dr Phelan's office at 0800 on 09 Oct
09 Oct Catherine said the physical went very smoothly, people were friendly and helpful. She was back at the Emb before 1000, interviewed (looked at some of the docs), then was told to come back at 1230. GOT THE VISA AT 1315!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is on her way to Gatwick now (11 Oct).

Things we learned that could have saved time:

We should have sent off for the police reports earlier.
I now understand that we could have opened a provisional file as soon as we submitted the I-129F
Other than that, I think we have been amazingly fortunate. Catherine did stress in her communications with the Emb that I had to return to work overseas in late Oct, that might have been what helped make the wait shorter for the interview.

I hope this helps some of you in any way, even if only to let you know that another couple has been successful in this complicated and somewhat tedious process.

Thanks to all for help and advice, Catherine and Jack
