timeline for AOS at SF
 

Hi,

just thought I'd post our experiences at the SF office. From August 12th, SF office no longer accepted AOS applications in person, mail only. We mailed our documents "express mail" on September 4th. Today, September 11th received a date, September 23 to pick up AP and EAD documents and our interview appointment, March 3 2003. Almost forgot, fingerprint appointment scheduled for October 16th. Very impressed that they seem to really have things well organised without the need to spend hours queuing at the INS office. Maybe I'm speaking to soon but, the system seems to work.

My lawyer, who didn't actually file for us, just checked our forms is also pleasantly surprised, he'd anticipated a 3-4 month delay on the EAD because of the new mail-in system.
