Was the mrs' birthday last week so we're off to dinner with a voucher she got for our favourite restaurant.
I'm not romantic enough to think of anything else for her, although I did do the dishes without being moaned at yesterday, so that should count for something.

Same as in England, we get each other a card and he usually gets me a bunch (not bouquet) of flowers. I cook him his dinner (as usual) and that's it.
We got the class list home last week so my daughter will be sending either a cheap card to everyone or candy of some sort.

Clydegirl's correct it was Are You Being Served. Mollie Sugden played Mrs Slocombe and John Inman played Mr Humphries the gay guy. 'I'm free!' was his tag line.

You can either be cheap and just buy the cards or you can buy cards with candy already attached or even do what I did one year and tape some candy to the cards.. some candy has a space for you to write your kids name so then you don't have to bother with a card...it's the candy the kids want anyway...iIhave 3 kids and spent $6 it's cheap so don't listen to AWP and let your kid participate
