Was the mrs' birthday last week so we're off to dinner with a voucher she got for our favourite restaurant.

I'm not romantic enough to think of anything else for her, although I did do the dishes without being moaned at yesterday, so that should count for something.

Same as in England, we get each other a card and he usually gets me a bunch (not bouquet) of flowers. I cook him his dinner (as usual) and that's it.

We got the class list home last week so my daughter will be sending either a cheap card to everyone or candy of some sort.

Let's hear your views. I would have put this into a poll but couldn't think of enough options....

Clydegirl's correct it was Are You Being Served. Mollie Sugden played Mrs Slocombe and John Inman played Mr Humphries the gay guy. 'I'm free!' was his tag line.

Thank you, and Clydegirl. Participate it is then... last thing I need on my hands is a newly imported 2nd grader feeling the odd one out! Went with the candy with a pre-printed 'to... from...'. Then I figured I had to get the teacher something too. And they have music tomorrow. And can't leave the busdriver out (he's an acquaintance of the in-laws as well) and then there's the kid next door who will probably show up with something just like at X-mas (when we had nothing for said kid ) so got the little neighbor some candy too. I went cheapo at Rite Aid and this all came to $13 and doesn't look it, so not bad.
