No harm, no foul (but it's weird there were 2 new cases of being bounced posted w/in 24 hours...).

I'm rushing out to renew my John Birch Society subscription as we speak. Well, after I've checked out under the bed, that is.

I saw an article in the WSJ this week that immigration offences are the one that are being most prosecuted right now.

So it would appear the authorities are having a clamp down on folks who once slid through.

Hi there people, my first post here so excuse me being naive and asking a few questions.

I am a 30 year old single male who has a 30k plus income. I'm employed in the Forces and no home in the UK, I'm currently thinking about buying a holiday home in Miami near South Beach as I have numerous friends over there and like the area. (Who wouldn't?!).

How easy is it to get a mortgage?
What are the pit falls?
Has anyone done this before and has advice?

I lived in Miami prior to moving to Vancouver. Have to say that once you get beyond the beach, and collins ave, it's not a very livable place at all. There are nice areas of course and i did like the Keys..... visiting is different than living.

As already noted, emmigration to the US is very difficult and I don't think you have seriously considered what you might be getting yourself into. Homeownership comes with a lot of associated costs beyond the purchase price. And 30 k is hardly a high income. Happen you might be better off getting a place in the south east.
