Things to take back to the UK to sell.....

Anything that I can make some money on by selling to friends when I head back in a few weeks? I'm not talking about taking an extra suitcase or anything. Just wondering if there was anything with huge mark ups that I could save my friends/family some money on and maybe make 20 quid in the process. :)

Levi's jeans are outrageously marked up here.

These days, most other stuff is no more expensive here than in the US. Always used to be that American stuff was much cheaper, but not now.

I think Jelly Bellies are cheaper in the States...

You might find that some branded stuff that is inexpensive in the States might attract a bit more money when sold here (like Russell Athletic clothing or John Deere t-shirts), but you are taking a risk - could be the wrong size for people who'd buy it, or you might not find people to sell it to.

Ralph Lauren, Juicy Couture, Bebe, Monet jewellery, Estee Lauder, Clinque...all much more expensive in the UK.

I would say any Apple product, also newer Nike trainers or sports wear in general.

My experience - Skippy peanut butter (some 50% markup), laptops, ipads.

PS: Can you bring me one too? :)

Tins of refried beans and chipotle chillies.

West Coast IPAs (open bottles and pour into ziplock bags to save weight).

I've been asked to bring over Levi jeans and Yankee candles.

Come to think of it....it's probably not worth bringing over expensive items (especially electronics).

You might end up having to pay Customs duty on arrival in the UK!

If I get my HP touchpads before I travel I will be taking a few of them. I can take the receipts if they want....All comes to less than 300 pounds

That looks like you're taking them into the UK to sell them. You will be charged duty if you are stopped.

I've seen Yankee Candles in quite a few places here recently, I was quite surprised as it's not something I'd expect to sell well here (the smells aren't what I would expect to be popular in Bitish homes).

Yankee candles are very heavy...not something I would consider taking.
