Is there anything else I should be doing?
Hi there
I'm going to Dallas on an H1b round about the end of october.
My flat is currently on the market, I have chosen a shipping company for my stuff, and the cat is going to be flown out after I'm there, I just feel a bit like I'm in limbo just now, like there are things I could be doing but have overlooked, any suggestions would be appreciated!
...maybe I should just enjoy the calm before the storm mind you!

Research the utilities you'll want hooked up where ever you move to?
Also read up on the DMV drivers handbook so you can pass the test asap, should be easy as pie, but it's the question regarding booze and penalty points for under 21 that usually get folks here.
Get copy of your medical/dental records, less hassle than when your in the US and saves on admin fee...
Fill out a P85 ready to be sent in when you move.
Sort out a proxy voter now because it's a mare once you're in the US and it's better than a postal vote because you'll usually not have enough time to make it count.
Go around taking photo's of stuff you might miss, daft things like the local pub, park, some mates...go to places you've been meaning to but never bothered because you didn't want to do the naff touristy stuff etc.
