Re: Thanksgiving Dinner
We've been invited to the outlaws house, she is making the turkey, stuffing, bean casserole thing and cranberry I'm taking roast beef (DH son is allergic to turkey and the inlaws won't change the menu for him) some roasted roots and cauliflower cheese. Other guests are bringing pies, there will be 12 of us so we'll see how it goes.

Never mind that I end up paying for and making all our holiday food anyway.

Given the price of some of the restaurants in NOLA, $50/head doesn't seem that bad to me...

I'll look out for you at the airport. We will be dropping my sis and BiL off on Thursday for their 6.35pm BA flight home
So our TXG dinner is Wednesday and it is going to be BBQ beef and veggies with cheesecake, ice cream and plenty of beer

Sorry, I don't. The local supermarket do some nice ones. It's a nice easy Thanksgiving. The chocolate mousse is a recipe from Henderson's vegetarian restaurant in Edinburgh, although it has eggs and double cream in it, and is a right pig to make although the end result is worth it.

Looks like we're having gammon ham as well. Cooked by me. How did that happen? Now I've got to find somewhere that sells a decent joint - not bought gammon here before but my experience around here is that joints/chickens are usually very small, or you buy half a cow (Costco).

We are invited to friends, and I will just have to be polite since sweet potatoes and corn pudding feature prominently. There isn't even any booze. I do it so that my American born son can have a Thanksgiving celebration of some kind and not feel left out.
