Text book rental.

I am not a student and I have no children, but I saw this site on a local news report today, and thought it might help some of you out with the rising costs of text books etc.
Good luck

Why do I misread the subjects on some of these threads. I thought you had rented something and were surprised that the whole deal went through without a hitch.

Not sure about book rentals but when looking at used text books....my daughter found most books are updated each year...so the used ones are usually out of date. The other drawback is...students usually write all over the pages.

When I attended University, I always looked for the used books with notes and highlighted sections in them. Gave me a heads up of what may have been an important part of that lesson/class (and always made me seem smart to the Professor like I had actually read the text prior to class ).

while your at it... http://www.ethos.ac.uk/
Good place to publicise your thesis...
Also, if your a Kings college student, probably university of London too actually, they've got one of the largest digitised libraries online open to students, massive amount of books and papers....though the missus spent a fortune on books for her masters, this resource saved us a bundle too....okay, not much use to everyone, but for those considering doing a online course, it's a big plus
