haha

31 views and still no one has had a go.....

I wonder, is this because:

a) no one can be arsed
b) every brit hates geography
c) ex patriates, become so Americanized, that they only see 1 state, so don't know any others
d) or no one could top my score of 36 states

its gotta be (d)

Hmm I'm thinking about it. Off the top of my head I have written down 21 but am not sure that I can be arsed trying to think of any others. After all I am not sure that anything exists beyond the borders of California.

Oops up to 22.

OK - I can remember 48. I've posted them in a separate thread (My Knowledge of America ).

I had to really dredge up the last 5 or 6...

Cheers,

Pat

Delaware is on the East Coast, just East of Maryland - map.

It's in the first line of a song containing lots (all) of States: What did Delaware boys, what did Delaware? She wore a brand New Jersey... etc

41 at last count...not bad for 2 years.

By the way any Americans reading this, why...
If Arkansas is pronounced Ar-can-saw is Kansas not pronounced can-saw??

Also why is it wrong for me to pronounce Maryland the way it looks? i.e Mary-Land ?? Marr-e-lind makes no sense

Food for thought...

I got 45 straight off, I've left the list at work so I can't remember which four I got next over a couple of hours while I was working, but I know that it included Rhode Island, Colorado, and New Jersey, but I never did get Nebraska.

I was sure that it was one of those states West of Illinois as I had drawn a mental map and there seemed to be gap in the upper mid-west. It was only when I saw DS's list that I realized I was missing Nebraska.

Acc. to the dictionary, it is pronounced Arkansas, but I guess it's like those folk who call Missouri, Missourah.
