Default Taxation???

Hi, I live in Alabama and am a retired Police Officer, I receive a pension paid into my Halifax BS acct in UK and draw it in USA via an atm, my question is I have opened an HSBC acct in the US if I redirect my pension to here will I have to pay any US taxes, I am a Permanent resident ( Legal ) with a 10yr Green card.

Thanks

Umm, does it even matter? Aren't you suppose to be paying taxes on that income (if it is treated as such) already?

Basic Tax Guide for Green Card Holders: Understanding Your U.S. Tax Obligations

If you have a U.S. green card, you are a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. even if you live abroad. This means you are treated as a U.S. resident for U.S. income tax purposes and you are subject to U.S. tax on your worldwide income from whatever source derived.

Thanks for that. The UK has a non-double taxation agreement with the US, ie as I am paying tax on the pension in UK I will not be taxed in the US, but as I wish to move where it is banked from UK to US I ask the aforementiond question.

Still have to declare the income even if you don't have to pay tax, so it's besides the point..

Welcome to BE though

That is not strictly true you must declare it but if it is paid entirely from the public purse no tax is levied. ie. state pensions.
