Just wondering if anyone could please recommend a package for filing UK taxes online.

(We have earned and unearned income in the UK and the USA.)

I've used the software available at http://www.tax.co.uk/ for a few years.

I don't know if it meets your needs, but you can download it for free (you only pay when you want to e-file).

It costs 20 pounds each year for up to 5 individual returns.

Any refund due has usually been deposited by the Inland Revenue in my UK bank within a week.

How about the Inland Revenue's own online service? I used to use that for PAYE + Self Employment income and it worked well. It looks like it now covers the foreign pages so would be able to cover US income as well...

I've also used the UK inland revenue online service and was very impressed by how easy it was to use. The only thing is for me I was only filing a return due to a relatively small amount of rental income so there was nothing to pay. I am not sure how the dual-tax treaty part would be worked out if you file online and have liablities in both countries - that might mean getting help from an accountant.
