Tax returns for I-864
Hi all,
I'm hoping to recieve my K1 before too long, and having gotten everything ready for the interview, me and my sweetie are preparing what we'll need for AOS later on. Here's my question: my soon to be bro-in-law (who will be our co-sponsor for the I-864) filed his taxes online this year, and didn't make a printout of what he sent off. I understand that you can't order a transcript for the current year. Is this true? Does anyone know how you go about getting a paper record of what you filed for the tax year just passed that is acceptable to the INS? My brother in law to be has his W2. Would the INS accept his 1999 and 2000 tax return and his W2 for 2001 together with an explanation of what happened?
Thanks in advance for any replies. I really hope this won't be a showstopper, because we really have no one else who can be our co-sponsor.
