Default Tax Return Question

I am gathering my past tax returns for the I-134 and realized for the past few years I have filed my taxes by telephone so my returns are not the official long forms. Anyone else had this situation? Do you think maybe I should include my W2s just in case?

Send this form to IRS to request free tax transcripts to guarantee something acceptable to BCIS. It took about three weeks to get mine, but I suspect that this is actually unusually long.

You can also call them and request it.

They are faxing me my copies. however they are still not the "official lobg forms". Since I filed by phone I don't even have an official form. This is just a letter type form with all the info consolidated in lump sums. Do you think this is OK?

An IRS transcript IS an official form. Didn't know you could file taxes by phone in the US -- sounds fishy.

Its called teletax or something. Its not fishy, I've done it my whole life. Your can only do it if you are single with no dependents and make a certain income.

I'm not sure - but I think the tax transcripts should suffice. I've read of more than a few people using them. I don't know if all of them had their paper copies of the actual forms, but either way tax transcripts are "official" in the sense that they are distributed by the IRS.

Also - if you're nervous about it, when you make the request, ask them to also send you a cover letter stating what is included, on OFFICIAL IRS letterhead.

Good luck!

I asked them for some type of cover letter, but they said they don't do that. Whatever.
Thats the deal with the actual forms - I don't have any. When you file by phone, you don't fill out forms. It is automated. I will send in my W2s as well just in case. From what I've read, as long as your income is well above that 125% poverty level, they don't really pay too much attention to the tax returns or the bank statement.

yeah I wouldn't worry about it too much.

That kind of sucks about the cover letter though..

both my brothers requested tax transcript and an official cover letter and got it all within a week.

anyway, I'm sure it will be fine.

good luck!

I had also used Teletax. I called up a number I found here in this fourm and ordered them. They arrived in about 1 week.

We had our interview yesterday and they were accepted, everything went fine. However I had to fill out a change of address form for the I864.

Thank you!
For a minute there I thought I was the only one who had used the teletax or had ever heard of it.
