Default Tax implications leaving the US

Hi there, I'm trying to understand my best course of action when leaving the US tax-wise. I've been a resident for two years and was thinking of returning to the UK next Spring/Summer. Am I crazy to go into a new tax year? Will I have to pay tax in the US on any income generated in the UK in the second half of 2020?
Any advice greatly appreciated!
