Default Tampa, tell me about it guys!!!!!!

Hiya

Well, my wife has noticed a new casino that has opened up in Tampa, and this one is land based/red Indian reservation, so has got me interested.....

http://www.hardrock.com/casinos/tampa/

I am going to do my own little web browse on property etc, but what can you lovely people tell me about Tampa? Infrastructure, property $?, crime etc?

Also, how far away is it from Orlando??????

Cheers

Yes!! the Seminole tribe seem to be doing very well since they ousted Chief James Billie last year..
Same as pretty much any major city...good airport ...not really far enough but 87 miles up I-4 straight to Orlando ..

How do you get out of the house in the morning? Is there anything that you have done without asking advice or needing encouragement?

Now remember- the rabbit comes out of the hole, around the tree and back into the hole

Are house prices much different to say Ft Lauderdale/Cape Canaveral/Orlando areas?

Which are the nice/avoid areas of Tampa?

Has anyone visited the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa?

Does the west coast differ at all to the east coast? If so, in what way?

I did once have a day Patrick when I didnt ask for advice, it was that day you were polite to Yosser......

Seriously, I only ask now because I feel helpless from the UK, and am just trying to pick the minds of a few friendly and helpful people who have modicum more knowledge of the area than I. Of course I shall make my own mind up, but that will be more so when Im actually in Florida, but for now, this will have to do.

I have family in Tampa.
It's a pretty nice place to live although house prices can be expensive if you want your kids to go to the better schools.
Crime can be bad, but you have to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Tampa has not been too "Hispanicified" as say Ft Lauderdale, but beware the border is moving North. Before long the locals will have to be able to speak Spanish to get anything done.

1. YES...check www.realtor.com for prices.
2. depends what you are into.. and how much you want to spend
it ranges the whole spectrum like any large city... Avoid places where Joe Redner has businesses
3. No.
4. Yes.. the waves are stronger on the east side..
