This week I received a letter from the IRS as receipt of 8802. saying they are reviewing my request and will respond within 30 days.

This applies to people who reached retirement age before April 2016.

Following my 1st 30 day letter I received another 30 day notification 2 weeks ago. Saturday I received a letter saying my certificate had been mailed to HMRC.
