Well not really, they are making it marginally harder. But the Feds rule.

Perfect timing for this thread:

Frankly, I love animals and I've taken my cat onboard in a carrier but for someone who just wants to avoid paying charges, I say it is about time all carriers do this.

About time.... last week we travelled on South West and a guy came on board with one of the biggest pit bulls I have seen for a long while..... yes, of course it had its vest on saying support animal (bought for $25 on the web no doubt).

The guy attempted to put in between him and the seat in front. The lady next to him looked very nervous.

If you and your partner really love your pet, you will stay within the spirit of the law and the policies and pay to have your pets shipped. it is a racket, but worth every penny.

Re: Taking dog to US

If I am not mistaken, only the US airlines recongnise ESAs so I believe it would be almost impossible to fly out of the UK with your pet in the cabin. BA for example lists the accredited organisations that it will accept certification from.

ESAs are NOT assistance animals (e.g. a guide dog, PTSD dog, allergy dogs or sniffer/tracker dogs) and it's basically a scam that enables people to have a pet in housing where pets are not allowed and to fly their dog for free and stay in hotels free of charge. There is a huge backlash against it, and rightly so, said as a dog owner who would love to take her large dog everywhere free of charge.

Does not apply to Hotels, unless you book through AirBnB, HUD is something different.

I ordered tags for my pup, should be here today.

Same here.

The threads that appear to be about flying cats are just down to poor phrasing though.
