Hi

We are taking our dog over to the US in 4 weeks. We are going with Virgin who actually seemed not only the best price, but also seemed to provide the most info on how to transport the dog etc. She is going in a airline approved dog carrier within the hold. Like others have pointed out, only US airlines will consider animals going in the cabin adn its dependant on size. We have a retriever so no chance of her getting under the seat!!!!

Didnt like BA, love flying with them, but over the phone they didnt seem to "care" as much as virgin about transporting the dog and how anxious we are about it.

Good luck though

Many thanks.
You could always say to them "unfortunately the b!tch is with me", who knows, the ticketing person might bump you up a class for compassionate reasons...
get a service dog vest, see if that helps.

Incase - if its of use to someone domestically - Pet Airways

There are Federal regs concerning the transport of animals in the USA.

The first question is where are you going to and when? The ground temperature is the controlling on factor (along with the breed as snub nosed are subjected to more rigorous rules) on if your animal can even travel by air on certain dates.

As your ultimate destination is the US you may find the following link helpful.

I took my cat as excess baggage from Heathrow to Philly in 2003. Are these new regs?
