I had never driven at all in the UK and was 29 when I passed my US driving test. My mother in law took me out about 10 times (firstly just driving around big empty car parks...then on the road) and then I had 3 proper lessons just to be on the safe side (but I didn't really need them to be honest). I passed first time. I'm in NY state and the actual driving test only lasted about 15 - 20 minutes. I think there was a multiple choice written test some time beforehand too. But it was easy. Nothing to worry about....and all automatic cars here too as others have said.

(I'm actually more worried about learning to drive again when we move back to the UK .....seems much harder over there).

IMO it must be quite difficult to pass the driving test in the UK after having driven here. You will fail for not holding the steering wheel correctly...driving with one hand...crossing your arms etc. all of which seem to be the normal way of driving in the US.
