Supreme Court OKs price fixing...
WASHINGTON, June 28 — Striking down an antitrust rule nearly a century old, the Supreme Court ruled today that it is no longer automatically unlawful for manufacturers and distributors to agree on setting minimum retail prices.
Supreme Court's DecisionThe decision will give producers significantly more leeway, though not unlimited power, to dictate retail prices and to restrict the flexibility of discounters.
Five justices said the new rule could, in some instances, lead to more competition and better service. But four dissenting justices agreed with the submission of 37 states and consumer groups that the abandonment of the old rule would lead to significantly higher prices and less competition for consumer and other goods.
Well done lads ...screw the consumer

One more thing to either fix
or leave over.
I can say more people are waking up to getting screwed over, but there are still so many who either can't or won't see it. Talked to a guy on the phone today who's happy in Silly Valley and could not understand why I would want to live in Europe, of all places. His idea of heaven is NYC. "What does the UK have that NYC doesn't?"
Hmmm. In the end it's because the UK's the UK and not NYC!

I can't believe how blatant it has become the last six or so years.

Gee, I wonder which "manufacturers" and "distributors" it is disguising and will benefit the most?!?

The bad guys
Anthony Kennedy
John Roberts
Samuel Alito,
Antonin Scalia
Clarence Thomas.
good guys
Stephen Breyer,
Ruth Bader Ginsburg,
David Souter
John Paul Stevens,
"The only safe predictions to make about today's decision are that it will likely raise the price of goods at retail and that it will create considerable legal turbulence as lower courts seek to develop workable principles," Breyer writes.

Most Americans are ignorant to the fact that in 1934 General Smedley Butler, the most decorated marine in US history, was approached by a group of wealthy industrialists and asked to perform a military coup of President Roosevelt. They wanted to turn the USA into a military-corporate fascist style government. He refused and turned these industrialists over to Congress. However, these same industrialists have performed a slow drawn out coup of America which is now in its final stages.
